| BUILDING SURVEYING SERVICES |
| |
| Introduction |
| In tandem with the core building surveying and architectural activity, we also offer a range of complimentary building surveying services. |
| |
| Party Wall Services |
| The Party Wall etc.
Act 1996 provides a framework for undertaking building works
to party walls, boundary walls, and for excavations near
neighbouring buildings. The combination of our technical
awareness and working knowledge of the Act serves to ensure
that works are undertaken with due regard to the Building
Owner and Adjoining Owner. Our architectural service
includes advising Building Owners on appropriate courses of
action to ensure their proposed works are compliant with the
Act. Alternatively, if you have received a Notice from a
neighbour confirming their intention to undertake works that
fall within the scope of the Act, feel free to contact us
for advice on the options afforded to you by the Act. |

| Insurance Reinstatement |
| If you have had the
misfortune to suffer a flood, fire, impact or subsidence, BDS
are at hand to promptly attend and get the reinstatement
process underway. By their very nature such occurrences are
unplanned, and effective professional assistance is key to
minimising the inconvenience. BDS provide
services to assess the extent of the reinstatement works
required, liaise with loss adjusters to ensure the full
liability of the policy is realised, appoint a contractor
and monitor the works through to completion. |

|
| Building Pathology |
| In addition to surveying your prospective new property, our building surveying skills also extend to the diagnosis of the cause of current problems that you may be experiencing with your existing property. Services typically include defects investigation and analysis, testing and monitoring as appropriate, and advising on appropriate schemes of remedial works. |
| |
| Boundary Disputes |
| Working on behalf of either the claimant or defendant, measured site surveys can be undertaken to gather and present pragmatic and impartial evidence on boundary positions and demarcation disputes. We are also experienced in working alongside legal representatives where matters progress to a Court Hearing. |
| |
| CDM Co-ordinator Services |
| The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 impose specific obligations and responsibilities on various parties of a construction project to consider and manage health and safety matters.
BDS can advise as to what extent the regulations apply to your project, and provide services as appropriate. |
